The Tuskegee Airmen of 332nd FG, or "Red Tails" as they were also known, were the first African-American military aviators in the United States armed forces. Alice-Jo was the personal mount of Capt Wendell O. Pruitt in the 302nd Fighter Squadron. Capt Pruitt sank a German destroyer with expert marksmanship by using only the guns of his fighter. He shot down three German fighter planes and destroyed eight more enemy planes on the ground.
