Panzerkampf 1/72 PAN14005PB Mi-24V ovp Hind Gunship, Kandahar, Afghanistan 1986

Recreate one of the most distinctive attack helicopters of the Soviet-Afghan War with this Mi-24V OVP “Hind” Attack Helicopter Gunship, representing an aircraft operating from Kandahar, Afghanistan, in 1986.

The formidable Mil Mi-24V, known to NATO as the “Hind-E”, combined the heavy armament of an attack helicopter with the ability to carry troops, giving it a unique battlefield role. During the Soviet campaign in Afghanistan, the Mi-24 became an imposing and highly recognisable presence, operating extensively in demanding high-altitude and hot-weather conditions.

This model captures the unmistakable profile of the Hind, from its distinctive tandem cockpit and heavily armoured fuselage to its stub wings and substantial weapons fit. Finished to represent an OVP aircraft based at Kandahar in 1986, it makes an impressive addition to any collection of Cold War, Soviet aviation or military helicopter models.
